Studying the Behavior of Asphalt Stabilized Gepseous Soil for Earth Embankment Model

The study presents the test results of stabilizing gypseous soil embankment obtained fromAl- Faluja university Campus at Al-Ramady province. laboratory investigation was dividedinto three phases, physical and chemical properties, optimum liquid asphalt (emulsion)requirements (which are manufactured in Iraq) were determined by using one dimensionalunconfined compression strength test.in first phase , fluid content 11%(6% emulsion with 5% water content).. At two, effect Aeration technique wasinvestigated both direct shear permeability test. for case staticload pure model under dry condition investigated, testingprogram included determination unconfined compressive strength, shearstrength, constant head test, dimensional consolidation andasphalt stabilized soil. Testing carried out absorbed conditions, themaximum pressure that can be supported before failure (ultimate sustained pressure) is 0.76MPa vertical settlement (0.21 mm) . However, For underabsorbed it found maximum sustainedpressure) 0.3 MPa (12 mm), Which reflects reduction bearingcapacity (61%). Compression made un-absorbed soiltested hydraulic conductivity seven days, showed a very lowmargin deffeneces resistance (4.38 ,0.11mm ) (4.11MPa 0.12mm).
